45015 remains stored inaccessible at Shackerstone although it is expected to leave the railway after its 8 year stay for local EMR scrap yard.

45015 did not leave Shackerstone, its home since 23rd October 2002 during June as had been expected. The loco is said to be heading for scrap but hopefully parts can be purchased before it is scrapped to help in the restoration and running of other preserved peaks.

Updated 7/4/10

The on-going dispute regarding the accommodation provided at Shackerstone for the restoration of 45015 reached court during February with the result that both the owner and the railway want the loco to move as soon as possible. Options for this to happen are currently being explored.

Updated 3/6/09

Progress with the proposed move of 45015 to a site in Essex is slow but the move is hoped to happen in the next few months. The project has been set back recently when it was discovered that some parts have been removed from the loco whilst in storage at Shackerstone as well as some spare parts that were destined for the restoration of the loco being stolen from storage.
